    Ser for lasting description: es alto, es simpático, es inteligente, somos una familia unida. Estar is for location or a temporary state: está en casa, está cansado.

    Appearance pack: tiene el pelo rubio / moreno / corto, tiene los ojos azules / verdes / marrones, lleva gafas, es bastante alto / baja.

    Relationships: me llevo bien con, me llevo mal con, nos llevamos bien, discutimos a veces, nos ayudamos, es comprensivo / estricto.

    Justify every person: Me llevo bien con mi madre porque es paciente y me escucha. An adjective without porque is a slogan.

    Past and future on the same theme: El sábado pasado fui al cine con mis amigos. El año que viene visitaré a mis abuelos en España.

    Possessives agree: mi hermano, mis hermanos, nuestra casa. Mi stays the same before a noun; mío / mía come after or stand alone.

Present character, preterite outing, future trip. That is three time frames on friends without leaving the topic.

A contrast with sin embargo looks like complexity. Keep both clauses conjugated: discutimos and es.

How do I describe family with tener and ser?

Split the job. Tener is for people you have, ages, hair and eyes: Tengo una hermana. Tiene quince años. Tiene el pelo largo y los ojos verdes. Ser is for who they are and what they are like: Es mi hermana. Es alta y simpática. Somos una familia pequeña. Stack them in that order so you never write soy quince años or está inteligente. Add one relationship verb: Me llevo bien con ella. That block covers a photo of people, a 90-word family bullet and a conversation starter. Practise it on three real relatives so the endings stay automatic when the teacher asks ¿cómo es tu familia?

What does me llevo bien actually need?

Me llevo bien con plus a person, then porque plus a reason with a verb or a precise adjective. Me llevo bien con mi padre porque juega al fútbol conmigo. Me llevo mal con mi primo porque es egoísta y nunca comparte. Nos llevamos bien is we get on. Discutimos, nos peleamos and nos ayudamos add range. Do not stop at mi familia es buena. Examiners have read that sentence a thousand times. Name one person, one trait, one shared activity. In speaking, that extra clause is what stops a one-word sí. In writing, it is the difference between a list of nouns and a developed idea the content band can reward.

How do friends give me a second time frame?

Friends are a time-frame machine if you attach events. Present habit: Normalmente salgo con mis amigos los sábados. Preterite event: El sábado pasado fuimos al cine y comimos palomitas. Fue divertido. Future: El año que viene viajaré a España con mi mejor amigo. You have now done family-and-friends and three time frames without changing topic. Add an opinion: Prefiero estar con mis amigos que quedarme en casa porque me hacen reír. Keep gustar agreeing if you use it: me gusta mi amigo, me gustan mis amigos. Recycle the same pack on the photo card when you see a group of teenagers.

Before a speaking exam, write three name cards: one relative, one friend, one person you clash with. Each card gets ser, tener, me llevo, one past and one future sentence.

    Soy quince años or mi hermano está alto. Age is tener. Lasting appearance and personality are ser.

    Me llevo bien mi madre, missing con. It must be me llevo bien con mi madre.

  3. 03

    A list of names with no verb: mi madre, mi padre, mi perro. Every person needs a conjugated verb and a porque.

Hermanastro / hermanastra for step-sibling. Soy hijo único / hija única for only child. Tengo un hermanastro still uses tener.

Can I talk about pets on a family bullet?

Yes, as extra detail: Tengo un perro que se llama Max y es muy juguetón. Do not let the pet replace the people the bullet asked for.

Is mi familia son close enough?

Prefer somos una familia unida or mi familia es unida. Familia is singular, so es not son if family is the subject.
